How long does the new home Selections Process take at HN Homes?
The Selections Process typically spans 5 dedicated appointments with your New Home Coordinator and our design partners. The exact timeline depends on the construction schedule and closing date assigned to your home. HN Homes designs the process to be thorough and unhurried, so you feel confident in every decision.
Can I change my selections after I have signed off?
Structural changes are accommodated early in the process. Once approved, all construction documentation is issued to our site team and trade partners. To maintain accuracy and quality control, your New Home Coordinator will guide you through key timelines. Due to the detailed nature of our Selections Process, changes cannot be made once they have been signed off.
What is the HN Homes Wishlist?
The Wishlist is HN Homes’ online design centre, where you can browse available finishes, fixtures, and upgrade options before your in-person appointments. You can build a cart, view real-time pricing, and save your preferred selections to review with your New Home Coordinator. Access is provided when you are matched with your NHC.
What structural changes can I make to my floor plan?
Structural changes are reviewed at your first appointment with your New Home Coordinator. Common options include adding a basement bathroom, modifying room sizes, relocating plumbing fixtures, and adding built-in millwork to new locations. Changes are subject to engineering review and available within your specific model’s parameters.
Do I need to bring anything with me to my first design appointment?
It helps to come with a clear sense of your lifestyle needs, a general budget for upgrades, and plenty of inspiration images or references you have gathered. Reviewing the Wishlist in advance is highly recommended, as it will make your first appointment much more focused and productive.
